Konmari - Photos Part 2 of 2 and Final Category!

Photos, Part 2 - Before and After with discards on the right in the second picture. Did the digital photos too! All photos took a total of 12.5 hours. I am now DONE Konmari sorting all categories in my house except for what's outside buried in snow! Next is organizing which is finding a place for all the remaining joy-sparking items. The book says not doing organizing is the cause of most people relapsing, so I'm going to start right on it because I never, ever, NEVER want to have to sort again!

Before - dog photos, Richie family photos

After, with discards on the right

Konmari - Photos - Part 1 of 2

Konmari'ing photos which I split into sub-categories since there are tons. Dad's photos - 3 hrs. - 1'st pic is before, 2'nd is after with keepers on the left. What I kept includes the binder of the family history he did.

Konmari - Dog Trophies

Konmari'd sled dog trophies - and found some obedience ribbons too that weren't shown here. 1'st photo is trophy cabinet before, 2'nd is spread out on the dining table, 3'rd is trophy cabinet after, and 4'th is donating. I removed the plates/buttons except for on a few, cleaned them, then noted the date and team when possible. Then bagged the plates with that info so I can mount them in a shadowbox frame later when I do "Organizing". Hope I can get one big enough - if not I'll do 2. Took 3 hours total. Next is photos which is going to be huge! I am almost finished with Sorting!

Before, in the cabinet

All were taken out and cleaned

After!  All the plates are in plastic bags - now I just need to find a shadowbox frame to mount them!

Konmari - Mementos Part 2 of 2

Mementos #2 - 2.25 hours, before and after with keepers on the right in the second photo. This included a big box of every card DH has ever given me and old love letters, my Mom's 93 year old doll, an antique oil lamp, my baby book with some VERY interesting notes in it, and my christening gown and shoes made from Mom's wedding gown and sewn by my Nana. I've never been a doll person so I'm going to eventually sell "Matilda" but was thinking my Mom might enjoy a visit or 2 from her. It's the only thing she has from her childhood since she was 6 years old. She can't keep it in the nursing home because it'll get broken.

Konmari - Some Mementos - Part 1 of 2

Konmari - some mementos - .5 hours, what I kept is on the right in the second photo, and all that is now in the small box in the third photo and that fits in the empty shelf in the button cabinet. So I'm getting there and only have about 8 more categories left before I'm finished!

Konmari - Sewing Button Collection

onmari - button collection - 3.25 hours, discards are in the second photo, what I kept is in a nice neat cabinet that's no longer cluttered with lots of other things. My wolf and sled dog buttons are in the den and aren't pictured. I actually sold a large collection like this quite a few years ago to pay dog bills so this is collection #2 that I hope I can enjoy for many years to come.

Konmari - Glass Bottles

Konmari - 1 hour - glass bottles - what I kept is on the right.  This has caused a problem with my front stairwell window though because the bottles live on glass shelves in that.  And now the shelves look quite empty and not as colorful.  I do want to stick with amethyst, pale green and pale aqua and eliminate the cobalt blue since I don't do that color any more.  Hope I can find some nice replacements at Brimfield this year.  That's where I do Yoga and the colors of the bottles in my window are part of my daily practice and are a really important joy factor :)

Konmari - Antique Stoneware

Konmari - antique stoneware - 20 minutes. This is my current favorite pottery so I only discarded what's in the second photo.  Then I ended up keeping the coverless pot with the bail handle and used it as a vase, and discarded the glass one I kept.

Konmari - Lighbulbs and Batteries

Konmari - boring light bulbs and batteries that I didn't bother showing - 15 minutes, what I kept is on the right in the second photo. We had a Mass Energy Save audit done and that was the source of all the mercury light bulbs. I got some good tips but I didn't like the thermostats they installed so those came out and we have regular ones again now. And the flame bulbs they gave me look awful so they're going!

Komari - Some Shamanic Tools and Misc What Not

Konmari - some shamanic tools and misc what not - 2 hours - what I kept is on the right in the second photo. What doesn't go with everything else is the statue of Mary but Richie's Mom made it. I use something else to symbolize Spirit which is both female and male. My tendency is to think of Spirit as female because all things are born of women, but I want to honor both energies.

Konmari - Sewing Collectibles

Konmari - Sewing collectibles - 1.25 hours - 2'nd photo is what I kept.
